To clarify what Terri said, posting porn isn't against the rules, but posting it for money is. If I had wanted too, you would be staring a a big pair of naked breasts right now. Sadly, I didn't. But, to uphold my side of the agreement, I will refute Terri's post and add positive qualities.
"To
start off this rant against porn I will discuss how porn exploits the actors in
porn mainly the women. If you have ever watched porn you will see that the
women are exploited in it 80% of the time they have to do basically “whatever”
the male wants of them (I put whatever in quotes because they do have a
director and a script)."
In regards to exploitation, it isn't as bad as it is made out to be. Yes, in porn women are often made to act submissive to the male, but most of this is just the director's decisions, and it is acting. It's not as if the girl is actually being forced to submit. A lot of porn (which I don't watch) actually has dominant women, who either seduce ignorant men, or, in some cases, beat, chain, and whip them.
"They are also being paid to have sex isn't that just
legal prostitution?"
You're right, it is basically legal prostitution, but for a camera. What if it is? In nearly all cases, porn is the career choice of the woman. She is being paid to act, and that is what she does. It is only very rarely that women are actually forced into it. What is actually exploitation, is how men are paid. In the porn industry, female actors get paid nearly 4 times more than male actors. That is exploitation of males.
"The women are also expected to fake pleasure whether they
actually have or not obtained orgasm."
That is completely true. But, the entire "act" is for the viewer, for monetary purposes. The female, fakes an orgasm for the same reason other actors fake laughter, or tears. It makes the movie "better" and causes more viewers to watch it.
"Another problem I have with porn is that
the women have to take the dick no matter how big and this can be unsafe."
You are completely right, but it isn't a huge health risk, as the female sex organ is flexible and able to stretch. Once again, I reiterate that a woman has the right to leave, even if that means she does not get paid.
"Therefore
proving how porn exploits its actors (mainly the women) for sex."
Nope. Porn gives people a job, ie, acting for money. When an actor has a sex scene in a movie, is it exploitation? The answer is no, it is a voluntary job.
"Next I
will speak to the unrealistic nature of porn. Hopefully most people realize how
unrealistic porn is but for those of you who don’t the situations in porn are
about as likely to happen as the twilight saga is."
That is actually a great point, however, it isn't the one you think it is. Both porn and the twilight saga are equally unrealistic. But do people complain that Twilight makes girls think they can date a vampire? Some do, but not to the extent that people complain about porn. If people won't use this same argument against other movies, then it cannot be fairly used against pornography.
Face it, during a pizza
delivery you are as likely to get laid as you are to get a $1,000 tip. So men
and women alike need to understand that the romantic and savage lust of porn is
faked.
Of course it isn't likely to get laid as a pizza guy, but is it likely for aliens to invade on Independence day? The answer is no. The lust in porn is of course faked, but like the orgasm, it is simply a byproduct of making the movie "better".
"Men just you will never have the dick of a porn star, i.e. 12’ long and
3’ width, in fact dick of this size can hurt during sex and to get it this big
porn stars are both naturally endowed and are taking some pretty good shit."
What man assumes he will have the dick of a porn star? Any realistic man will just look in his pants and face the truth. What is unrealistic is women expecting men to have them, and they should know we don't.
"Men
and women alike also need to know that men will never last as long as porn
stars seem to in the bed room, these things are taped several times and cut
just right to make it look like they are lasting forever, they also have some
tips and secrets to last longer during those takes."
Of course men and women need to know that they will never last as long as porn stars, just like they need to know that they will never fly like Neo or fight like Bruce Lee. Porn, like movies, is fake, and people need to understand that.
"Porn also makes lesbians look like they are lesbian for the enjoyment of men,
this is simply not true the women who are in these types of porn are usually
bi, or straight and doing it for the money."
Who thinks that lesbians are only lesbians for the enjoyment of men? No rational person would watch it and think, oh, this work of fiction must be entirely true. Indeed, the women who do it are usually bi, and every woman doing porn is doing it for the money.
"Another thing is that women will
not orgasm every single time. Also the sex will never be quite the same as what
you see in porn. In conclusion real life is very different than porn, so
therefore porn gives people unrealistic expectations of their self and their
partner."
Porn is made to be unrealistic, and the actors do unrealistic things. People should realize that it is fake, and the problem is solved.
"Lastly
I will discuss how porn promotes sex, particularly unsafe versions of sex. If
you have ever watched porn you will know that porn is separated in to many
factions just like movies, and there is a faction for every fetish, and these
factions separate into many facets depending on what type of actors you like to
what actions you want to see the actors preform. I do say preform because that
is what these actors do they perform these acts of sex the same way actors
preform Shakespeare. However, some of these acts may be unsafe for most people
to preform, big dicks can tear a person open, urination and fecal matter can
cause infections and sickness. Bondage if not preformed correctly can result in
serious injury. Porn happens to promote unsafe sex, have you ever really seen a
condom being used in a porno? This lack of condom can increase the chances of
getting an STD/STI and increase the chance of pregnancy."
You are entirely right, porn does involve many dangerous things, and it does promote them, in the same way Batman promotes jumping off buildings. These people undergo many dangerous things for money, and probably should not. Hopefully, people understand not to do them themselves.
"Also it has been found
that people who watch porn are more likely to physically and mentally abuse
their partners."
Where has this been found? In the study, were the people who watched porn normal people, or did they have per-existing conditions that would make them more likely to watch it? Was there a control group to determine the difference? All of these things could greatly effect any sort of conclusion. It is bad science to use myself as an example, as I am a very small sample size. Ignoring that, I have never, and will never, abuse my partner, even though I do occasionally view pornography.
"In conclusion, I have proved that porn promotes unsafe versions
of sex."
How exactly have you proved it? You cite no evidence, studies, or statistics. The closest I could find with minimal effort was wikipedia. and it's entry on pornography states:
"Research concerning the effects of pornography is inconclusive on the
issue of crime. Some studies support the contention that the viewing of
pornographic material may increase rates of sexual crimes, while others
have shown no effects, or a decrease in the rates of such crimes.
However, most of these studies focus on various correlations, and correlation does not imply causation."-Wikipedia
" Finally,
I would like to say that even though porn has a lot of bad aspects it also has
some good ones. Just be sure that you realize the unrealistic nature of porn
and try to refrain from unsafe sex your body and future self will thank you for
it."
Good advice actually.
There are also many positive aspects that often go unnoticed. For instance, pornography provides many people with jobs, and improving the economy. According to Wikipedia,
"Revenues of the adult industry in the United States are difficult to
determine. In 1970, a Federal study estimated that the total retail
value of hardcore pornography in the United States was no more than $10
million.
In 1998, Forrester Research
published a report on the online "adult content" industry estimating
$750 million to $1 billion in annual revenue. As an unsourced aside, the
Forrester study speculated on an industry-wide aggregate figure of
$8–10 billion, which was repeated out of context in many news stories, after being published in Eric Schlosser's book on the American black market. Studies in 2001 put the total (including video, pay-per-view, Internet and magazines) between $2.6 billion and $3.9 billion."-Wikipedia.
As you can see, it provides employment to many people, and a minimum of $2.6 billion into the economy, which is quite a lot.
Pornography also helps people to relive sexual urges in a controlled setting, allowing them to release stress and other things safely. Though I have no studies to support this, I am sure some exist.
In conclusion, porn, like movies, is a large industry where actors do unrealistic things on film, and people should not emulate their behavior. Safe sex should always be practiced, and children kept away from porn, but it should never be restricted to adults, with some exceptions, such as rape, child porn, and bestiality, which should be wiped off the face of the earth.

Cartoons, and why I love them
I'm sure by now that many of you have already heard about the recent Supreme Court ruling. It's a great breakthrough for LGBT people, but Terri already covered it, and probably covered it better than I could. So, hop over to her post if you want to read about it.
What I'm going to talk about, is cartoons. Many of you might say, oh, cartoons, how childish. What does it matter if they are? Does everything in life have to be serious? Am I not allowed to relax and shut down my brain at some point in my day?

(Also, Fuck you)
The answers are no, it doesn't, and yes I am. Many of them also have adult themes in them, subtly hidden so children don't notice them, but not so much that I don't. The show Rocko's Modern Life has more masturbation jokes than a high school classroom. Rocko's favorite game is punch the weasel. It doesn't even try to hide them. Other shows also do it, like Cow and Chicken, or one of my favorites, Ren and Stimpy.
One show I really like right now is Teen Titans. It is a show about five "teenagers" with some form of powers, be it superpowers or ninja like abilities. I admit, it is a lot less dark than the comics, which I love, but for its medium, it was great. There was violence, slapstick humor, relate-able characters, and even outright betrayal. Each character had their own story, strengths, flaws, and emotions, and as the show progressed, they changed.

Another was Samurai Jack.It was about a Japanese samurai, who, just as he was about to beat his arch nemesis, Aku, he was flung into the far future, where evil is rife, and Aku is ruler. The show is about his travels, and it tries to stay true to the samurai movies, despite censorship. Instead of human enemies, he fought robots and monsters. Instead of blood, there was oil and goo. It really was a great show.

But in life all things are fleeting. Cartoon network canceled all of these shows, despite high ratings in the teen demographic, and the fact that the animators enjoyed making them. It really was a dick move. They did similar things to the shows Generator Rex ans Symbiotic Titan, which I also enjoyed.
What they replaced the shows with was far worse than if they had simply canceled them. When they created Teen Titans Go, I had a brief hope that the series would be continued. Nope. Just some stupid kids show with the same character names and no adult themes. What did I expect? Their main demographic is children after all.
Similar to cartoons is anime, which is awesome, but it would take to long to talk about it. Just know that is is very diverse, and most of it is awesome. Especially Death Note.

On Science and Morality: Exploring the Deeper Issues
A great many people assume that science, in its barest form, is moral. It is not. Nor is it immoral, as many fundamentalists would have you believe. Science is instead amoral; as in, it has no distinct morality. It is not a set of beliefs, nor is is a person, it is not a prophet, nor is it anything with sentient mind. Science, in its barest form, is a process, and a tool. It does not make people better, and it does not make them worse, it merely provides them with a means to explore their universe, and create tools based off what they discover. The process follows the route shown in the picture below.
The scientific method is not a set system of beliefs, is is a way of gathering data, making hypotheses, and testing them until they are true beyond all doubt. However, once a theory is accepted, its position is not guaranteed. If future scientists discover evidence that disproves it, than it either changes to accommodate new evidence or is thrown away.
What science does give us, is a rapid progression of technology, that doubles in complexity roughly every ten years. This gives us a great many tools, which can create or destroy, harm or heal, or any number of things. However, though these tools can be used for good or ill, you will find that a great many are used to help humanity. Advances in biology allow us to both cure smallpox and weaponize it, but today, you will find not a world spanning über-plauge, but instead that we have removed it from the face of the earth. Though science does produce many things that could cause great harm, they are generally outnumbered by the things that help people. Modern medicine saves lives. Modern geology helps predict earthquakes, Modern meteorology helps predict hurricanes and tornadoes. Hell, even nuclear science has given us medical treatments using radium.

The bottom line is, science isn't perfect, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is who uses it, and how they use the fruits of their labor.
